Dr. Antonio Cantu
DVM
Dr. Antonio Cantu
Dr. Antonio Cantu was born and raised in Mission, Texas, and is proud to serve the community he has always called home. After graduating from La Joya ISD in 2009, he pursued his passion for veterinary medicine by studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. He later attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada and completed his clinical training at Texas A&M University in College Station, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
From a young age, Dr. Cantu dreamed of becoming a veterinarian and returning to the Rio Grande Valley to care for the animals of his community. That dream became a reality with the creation of South Texas Veterinary Care. Dr. Cantu is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality medicine while building lasting relationships with the families and pets he serves.

Iliana Cantu

Iliana Cantu
Iliana Cantu was born in Hidalgo, Texas, and raised in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. She brings over 10 years of experience in practice and regional management in the dental field, where she developed a strong passion for leadership, organization, and client care. When the opportunity arose to help build South Texas Veterinary Care, Iliana was excited to bring her management experience into the veterinary field and be part of creating a welcoming, high-quality hospital for the community.
As Practice Manager, Iliana is dedicated to ensuring the clinic runs smoothly while providing an exceptional experience for every client and patient. Outside of the clinic, she is a proud mom of three and a loving pet owner to two dogs who are an important part of her family.

Gloria Marquez

Gloria Marquez
Gloria was born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in Peñitas, Texas. She is proud to serve the community she calls home. With over seven years of customer service experience, Gloria is dedicated to creating a welcoming, compassionate, and positive experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to connect with and support a diverse range of families.
Outside of her role at STVC, Gloria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree, expected to be completed in 2027.

Sarahi Medrano

Sarahi was born in McAllen, Texas and raised in Mission, Texas, and is proud to serve the community she calls home. As a bilingual team member, she is dedicated to ensuring every client and patient feels welcomed, understood, and cared for.
With over 7 years of experience in veterinary care, she brings a compassionate, detail-oriented approach to every interaction. Her commitment to patient care and client experience reflects the high standards and values of South Texas Veterinary Care.
Outside of work, she is a devoted wife and proud mom to her princess. She also owns her own photography business, where she captures meaningful moments and creates lasting memories for families.
She is truly excited to serve you, your pets, and the entire community as part of the STVC team. She looks forward to growing, serving, and making a difference alongside her team.

Arantxa Cantu

Arantxa Cantu
Arantxa brings 4 years of experience as an Emergency Veterinary Technician, where she has developed a strong passion for patient care and helping pets during their most critical moments.
She has a special love for reptiles and exotic animals and enjoys working with the wide variety of unique species seen in veterinary medicine. Arantxa is also currently attending college as she continues pursuing her goal of a career in veterinary medicine.
One of her many unique talents is that she speaks four languages, allowing her to connect with and assist a diverse range of clients and patients within our community.
Her dedication to learning, growing, and providing compassionate care makes her a wonderful addition to our team. We are excited to have someone who shares our commitment to helping pets and the people who love them.

Osvaldo Gallegos

Osvaldo Gallegos
Osvaldo brings over 7 years of experience in veterinary medicine and has developed a special passion for dermatology and dental care. His dedication to patient care, attention to detail, and love for helping animals make him a wonderful addition to our clinic.
Outside of the clinic, Osvaldo enjoys spending time outdoors through hiking, hunting with his dogs, and other outdoor adventures. Fun fact: he is also talented at sewing and enjoys cooking for family and friends!
As a bilingual team member, Osvaldo is excited to help serve and connect with even more families throughout our community.

With an incredible 25 years of experience as a veterinary technician, Jackie brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to every patient and family she serves. Throughout her career, she has built a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and credits her previous employers and mentors for helping shape the technician she is today.
Jackie is passionate about providing exceptional patient care while creating meaningful relationships with both pets and their owners. Her positive attitude, teamwork, and commitment to excellence make her a wonderful addition to our hospital.
Outside of the clinic, Jackie’s greatest joy is spending time with her children, who are the center of her world. She’s known for her fun personality, quick wit, and sense of humor, while also knowing when it’s time to focus and deliver the highest level of care. And here’s a fun fact—you’ll never want to challenge Jackie to a friendly competition! She enjoys a little gambling and loves the thrill of competition, a reflection of her drive to always give her very best.

Dani

Dani brings nearly 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine, with a background in both client service and patient care. As a bilingual team member, she is proud to assist both English- and Spanish-speaking families, ensuring every client feels comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their pet’s care.
One of Dani’s favorite areas of veterinary medicine is surgery. She finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of procedures that improve a patient’s health and well-being, and she takes pride in helping guide patients through their recovery. She is also passionate about preventative care, believing that keeping pets healthy before problems arise is one of the most important aspects of veterinary medicine.
Outside of the clinic, Dani dedicates her time to helping stray and homeless dogs throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Her compassion for animals extends far beyond the hospital walls, and she is committed to positively impacting our community.
